Lick Your Cat Happy with LICKI Brush. No, Really.

It may be time for us to consider the idea that cats are legitimately endowed with some kind of brainwashing ability, because it appears that we will do literally anything to please them. And if it seems like a stretch to think that cats can control us like Rey controls a (surprisingly suave and British) stormtrooper, then take the LICKI Brush into consideration before scoffing at the possibility.

And what is this LICKI Brush, you ask? Oh, it’s just “a high-quality, soft silicone brush, designed to feel pleasurable to your cat’s sensitive skin.” That you stick in your mouth, and use like a giant faux cat tongue so you can literally lick your cat happy.

The LICKI Brush, which recently appeared on Laughing Squid, is the brain-kitten of electrical engineer and “Cat Entertainment Enthusiast” Jason O’Mara and his wife Tara. The pair are committed to improving the quality of cats’ lives, and so far they’ve done so by creating SHRU, which is “an intelligent cat companion” (essentially an electronic mouse that’s bound to tap into your cat’s deepest “kill-dis-now!” instincts).

“We have designed LICKI brush to bring you and your cat closer,” the inventors say on the LICKI Brush Kickstarter (lickstarter) page, adding that “by using LICKI with your cat on a regular basis, you’ll develop a more intimate and bonded relationship, much like a mama cat bonds with her young.”

If you do think — or if you’ve been made to think by some feline mind trick — that the LICKI Brush is indeed the best way to bring you and your cat closer, you can contribute to the product’s campaign, which is doing surprisingly well. Although maybe it’s not so surprising if we consider the idea that cats can indeed control our thoughts.
