Lex Luthor Reveals BATMAN V SUPERMAN Details in New Interview

When the latest Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer hit recently, Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal of Lex Luthor was maybe the most controversial part of it, with many fans saying he didn’t come across as a serious threat. Some fans were seeing something more in line with one of the jokey villains from one of the Tim Burton/Joel Schumacher-era Batman movies from the ’90s.

It’s hard to say how Eisenberg’s Lex will ultimately play out, as the overly friendly, jokey persona might just be a public cover for a far more sinister personality behind the scenes. But the latest viral marketing promotion for the film, which is another “interview” with Wired Magazine about the young billionaire tech genius on his new operating system Lex/OS,  certainly shows a more cunning side to Lex. It also shows that Luthor is no more a fan of Batman than he is of Superman, when he says the following:

“Any objective analyst will tell you that his brand of justice, vigilantism, is painfully outmoded, designed to be effective in an age when the law carried billy clubs because crime carried knives. The most dangerous guy on the street worked in the shadows because he was cowardly and superstitious. That’s all you needed to play upon in order to disrupt their operations. You want to clean up the streets? Dress up like the boogeyman, switch on a fog machine and lower your voice.”

Ouch. But then, judging from the trailer, it doesn’t seem like Batman likes Lex all that much either. The “interview” has some other cool DC Easter Eggs, such as the interviewer being Ron Troupe, whom fans of the Superman comics know to be a longtime writer for the Daily Planet. Also mentioned is A.R.G.U.S., which is more or less the DCU version of S.H.I.E.L.D.

But the most interesting part of the article is an infographic of Lex’s corporate rivals. Among them are Kord Industries (Enterprises), and, maybe the most interesting, Queen Industries. Kord Industries (Enterprises) indicates that Ted Kord, better known as the Blue Beetle, is part of DC’s movie universe, but Queen Industries is telling us that Oliver Queen, a.k.a. Green Arrow is as well. With reports coming in recently that Black Canary is getting cast for the Justice League movie, is it possible that her beau Green Arrow is as well? And how soon is it to start fan casting Brad Pitt in the role??
