Let’s Admit Silly String Is Awful and Destroy It in a Hydraulic Press

Everyone means well when they purchase Silly String. There’s a party coming up and they want to surprise guests with handfuls of pressurized polymer. But it then they realize all the string does is get everywhere, and it’s oddly greasy and it’s hard to clean up… it’s bad. Not actually fun. All the more reason to take a can of the stuff and crush it in a hydraulic press.

Don’t be confused. PressTube is another channel that crushes various objects in an industrial press to the delight of YouTube. You were probably thinking of Hydraulic Press Channel, the one that features the smooshed clay animals at the end and explodes paper. Different names, same aim: apply PSI until something is flatter.

The string can is particularly fun to watch, though. The press actually activates the can like you would at a party that you are about to make worse, but then effortlessly pushes past the bottom of the button. Ribs of metal form along the sides of the ever shortening can until, at the very bottom, there is enough string to expand the walls of the container and burst out like springy snakes waiting in fake peanut brittle.

What should this (or any of the others devoted to the cause) YouTube channel crush next with its hydraulic press? I’d like to see something insanely valuable suddenly become two-dimensional. Like a replica lightsaber from The Force Awakens. Think of the nerd rage…let it flow through you. Let us know your pick in the comments below.
