Leslie Jones celebrated her birthday a few days early yesterday, and it was replete with a Ghostbusters-themed cake! Jones, who turns 47 tomorrow, the 7th, is one of the four new Ghostbusters — along with Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Kate McKinnon — in the Paul Feig-helmed reboot due in theaters next year. The cake was made in the style of the new version of Ecto-1, which Feig debuted on Twitter earlier in the summer. Theres a hefty amount of Slimer-esque gel icing on the base of the cake, which makes us wonder if the Green Gobbler will be returning in the newest iteration of the franchise. It could simply be just a nod to the iconic character of the original movies and animated series, but of all of the specters that the first two movies produced, Slimer is the one I’m hoping returns the most.

There are still months and months between now and the film’s release, but every little social media post like this helps us withstand the wait. Knowing how much fun the actors and crew are having celebrating the movie during the filming process is a sign of good things to come!
