LEGOÂ and Adventure Time are two unique franchises that, while ostensiblyLEG aimed at children, celebrate huge fanbases amongst nerdy adults, too. In that regard, both are revolutionary figures in their respective markets. And as such, itâs not surprising that they did something revolutionary when at last they merged in a full-scale partnership.
First, it should be noted that there are some existing Adventure Time LEGO packs as part of LEGOâs Dimensions game. Said packs include a handful of Adventure Time toys, like a Finn Jakemobile that can be rebuilt into Snail Dude Jake. For the most part, though, it’s pretty standard fare. Now, as Kotaku reports, LEGO has upped its game.
LEGO just announced an official Adventure Time minifigure series that includes some of our favorite characters: Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, BMO, Ice King, Gunter, Marceline, Lady Rainicorn, and a handful of other friends will all be included in the set. These arenât your basic minifigures, though; rather than cramming all that wonderful AT detail into tiny minifigs, LEGO has opted to package each character as a figure that can be built from scratch. And really, how else could we really capture the essence of Lady Rainicorn, a majestic beast of myriad shapes and colors?
The set will include individual boxes for each character, along with instructions that will help you assemble them into one-to-four inch figurines. Make sure you thank LEGO Idea creator aBetterMonkey for this innovative new set. The team gathered the 10,000 supporters necessary for turning this into a real live thing, which means that we should really be calling them theBestMonkey.
The set will make an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, but it wonât hit stores until January, 2017, when it will retails for a cool $49.99. Now the fun will truly never end.
Are you as excited as we are to put these adventurers together? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
