LEGO STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Gets a New Trailer and Demo

Later this month, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will provide gamers with a lighthearted, humorous take on the franchise’s latest film. But first, players can check out a new demo, starting today!

Playstation 4 owners can currently download “The Niima Outpost” for free and explore one of the most significant areas on Jakku from The Force Awakens. The demo will include several new features, including the ability to explore the downed Star Destroyers, and take on the New Order’s stormtroopers with Rey, Finn, and BB-8. It will also feature the trio’s escape from the New Order and allow players to control the Millennium Falcon. While the PS4 is getting the first crack at this, Xbox One owners won’t have to wait very long. The demo will be released on Xbox Live at 3pm PST on June 14.

Along with the demo came a new E3 trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which proves that the only thing cuter than BB-8 is LEGO BB-8! The trailer also brings the signature LEGO style and humor in several amusing touches, including Kylo Ren’s very teenager-like shrine to Darth Vader, his Fruit Ninja moment, and his lightsaber performance issues, as well as the previously hinted at fate of Captain Phasma. You may even notice a cameo appearance by Luke Skywalker himself!

The trailer also appears to use dialogue directly from The Force Awakens, but it’s not clear if the cast re-recorded their lines and new dialogue for the game.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on June 28 for all of the major gaming platforms.
