LEGO Bricks Become Weapons in This Playable LEGO CLUE

Miss Scarlet in the Conservatory with a LEGO pipe! That’s my guess for who did it in this round of LEGO Clue. Builder Ian Spacek made this beautiful and brick version of Clue for the MocOlympics. M.O.C. stands for “my own creation” so participants can only enter projects they’ve designed and constructed themselves. The LEGO Olympics are on round four, and the challenge was to build a game that you would choose to play on a rainy afternoon when the power’s out and you don’t have any juice left on your iDevices. Wow, do you remember the days when we didn’t have gadgets to keep us company with the electricity got knocked out? I feel old.

Anyway, Spacek tackled the classic game Clue and made it completely playable. I’d choose to pull this out of the cupboard even if it wasn’t last resort entertainment. He used a reference image of the board to stay as true to size as possible and completely nailed capturing the patterns in all the different rooms. To save on space, he only put an element or two in each room to get the message across. The kitchen has a table with a turkey, the ballroom has a baby brick piano, and so on.

The board is impressive, but my favorite part is the scorecard. Spacek turned the scorecard into a scorebrick. What?!? There are different colors for the characters, tiny little LEGO minifig weapons, and letters to represent each room. It looks as though you place a LEGO stud over the clues you eliminate. I want one!

If you could give any board game a LEGO makeover, which one would you choose? Let us know in the comments.
