LEGENDARY COMICS Reveals Cover Art for GODZILLA: AWAKENING

Behold the terror: Legendary has released the cover art by illustrator Arthur Adams (Godzilla, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Uncanny X-Men) for the graphic novel Godzilla: Awakening.

For those of you not up to speed, the 80-page Godzilla: Awakening is written by Max Borenstein (screenwriter of Godzilla) and Greg Borenstein, and is set decades before the movie. The graphic novel is designed to give the more dedicated Godzilla enthusiasts a rich background to the May 16th film. Leaving ample time for fans to bone up on back story, it will go on sale May 7, a full 9 days before Godzilla hits theaters. Other artists involved in the assemblage of Godzilla: Awakening include Eric Battle, Yvel Guichet, Alan Quah, and Lee Loughridge.

In case you missed it, check out the international trailer for Godzilla as well as the fan reactions to the Godzilla sneak peek at SXSW in a session moderated by Nerdist News’s own Jessica Chobot.
