Left 4 Dead Creators Releasing New Game, EVOLVE, This Fall

There’s been a painful, aching lack of Left 4 Dead 3 in the gaming world, with Valve not giving even the slightest tease or hint of a sequel. But no problemo, friendos, because the original creators of Left 4 Dead (also known as Turtle Rock Studios) have stepped out to bring us a brand spanking new I.P. called Evolve.

Evolve is a multiplayer shooter that pits four players in the boots of alien hunters as they work together to take down a fifth player, who plays as an overpowered monster that grows stronger as the match progresses. The hunters all possess unique abilities that are even more forceful in conjunction with one another. The monster, on the other hand, while outnumbered, will be larger in physique and have a wide range of attacks to make it difficult to take down. This four-vs.-one hunt mode is the only thing that has been detailed thus far, but it’s apparent that Turtle Rock is sticking to its bread and butter: a cooperative/competitive shooter with a wide variety of modes and plenty of replayability.

Today, Turtle Rock and publisher 2k Games announced that Evolve will be launching this fall on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Pre-orders for the game also went live today, with the incentives for pre-ordering including the Savage Goliath Skin (for the game’s default monster Goliath) and access to the game’s next monster when it’s released in the future. We’ll have more on Evolve as the developments unfold.
