Lana Del Rey Debuts ‘Music to Watch Boys To’ on Zane Lowe’s Radio Show

Last week, Lana Del Rey released a video sampler of her upcoming album Honeymoon, which teased two of the record’s tracks, one of which we know to be called “Music To Watch Boys To”. We know this because today on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio station, Lana premiered the track in full. Check out a radio rip of the sultry, breathy number below:

The song premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, and then Lana and Zane had a 15-minute conversation–which you can listen to here–about the origins of Honeymoon:

“I think the jumping off point was kind of the end of the other one [her previous album, Ultraviolence]. So just feeling like I wasn’t too tired, and feeling still inspired, like I could keep going. I just wanted to take advantage of it and see where it lead. I didn’t think it would turn into an entirely new record, but as the months went on, I think in about January, I really felt like I had had 8 months to write probably three quarters of the record. I thought it was really good and that it could turn into a real record.”

Here’s the artwork for “Music to Watch Boys To”:

The song is supposedly one of Lana’s favorites from the album–her third–and was nearly the lead single, but that honor was snatched up by “High By The Beach”, in the video for which she snipes a helicopter right out of the sky with military-grade weaponry (aka a NERF gun).

“Music To Watch Boys To” has not yet been made available in any official capacity, but aside from its inevitable single release, the next opportunity to hear the song will be when Honeymoon drops, currently scheduled for September 11 via Interscope.
