Kristen Wiig and Paul Dano Joined Sia at Coachella

Sia hasn’t performed a full set in five years, but you would never have guessed that by the bewigged pop luminary’s superb Coachella set on Sunday night of the festival in Indio, California.

During the 13-track performance—which included hits such as Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” “Chandelier,” and “Elastic Heart”—the Australian artist brought out an all-star cast of celebrity friends to ensure her Coachella set would be the highlight of the weekend. Among Sia’s very famous friends that appeared on the giant screens beside her were Paul Dano, Kristen Wiig, Tig Notaro, and her perennial sidekick/younger alter-ego Maddie Ziegler, who danced beside Sia in real time.

I very strongly urge you to watch the entire performance below, which one Reddit user described as “the performance of a generation.” I usually don’t have terrible FOMO about missing things, but a part of me ached sooooo badly watching this performance, during which she channeled her emotions so expertly through her surprise guests. Part of the mystique of Coachella, which has become a pastime at this point, is guessing which acts will bring out guests, and who those guests will be. Sia’s performance provides a clever take on this: the faceless pop star featuring beloved actors who still never distracted from the piece at large. I can only imagine what it must have been like to witness this firsthand. Definitely way more exciting than seeing Drake and Madonna make out.

A Shia LaBeouf cameo is the only thing that would have made this performance perfect, but hey. Keep shining bright like a diamond, Sia.
