KONG: SKULL ISLAND Stars Take Fans Behind the Scenes in New Video

Last night’s MTV Movie Awards offered a cornucopia of teases for upcoming movies. In addition to new trailers for Suicide Squad and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, MTV debuted a new video from the set of Kong: Skull Island, Legendary Pictures’ re-imagining of King Kong.

In the video, reigning Oscar winner for Best Actress, Brie Larson, was joined by Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston, future 24: Legacy star Corey Hawkins, and Straight Outta Compton‘s Jason Mitchell as they shared previously unknown details about Kong: Skull Island. For starters, this movie isn’t a prequel to King Kong; instead it’s a brand new story set in the Vietnam era. While Kong isn’t glimpsed in these clips, Hiddleston promised that “Kong appears in this film as you’ve never seen him before.”

Hiddleston also revealed that his character is Captain James Conrad, a former British SAS officer, while Larson said that she is playing Weaver, a photo journalist who wants to preserve and protect the impossible creatures encountered on Skull Island.

The video also features a few cameo appearances by other performers in the film, including Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman. Mitchell also spoke briefly about his character, a helicopter pilot who has to find his courage over the course of the movie.

Kong: Skull Island will be released on March 10, 2017.
