It may have been beauty killed the beast in the original iteration, but let it be known: this year’s take on the King of the Apes is gearing up for quite a different, multi-monsterific (the technical term) fight. In Kong: Skull Island, the biggest monkey this world has ever seen isn’t simply going up against the humans that he’s frightened (and long to understand his world), there are a heck of a lot of similarly sized monster also hoping to tackle the beast.
Naturally, when you have a king as big and badass as Kong, the next logical question to ask is: which monster do you want him to go up against? Unfortunately, the monsters Kong goes up against weren’t available to be asked (their loss) so we sat down with some of the cast of Kong: Skull Island—Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Jason Mitchell, and Toby Kebbell—to get their answers. (And no, before you ask, they didn’t all say Godzilla, we promise.)
This is a mild spoiler if you haven’t watched the video above but: we’re totally in for a Kong vs. The Blob battle—I mean, aren’t you?
