Nintendo’s Kirby Has Become Japan’s Most Adorable Snack

For the last twenty five years, Nintendo’s Kirby has created his own place in video game history by defending Dream Land and the planet Pop Star by weaponizing his enormous appetite. Enemies and objects can be easily swallowed by Kirby, but somehow he manages to make that look cute. Now, fans in Japan are celebrating their love of Kirby by turning the tables and eating him.

Via Kotaku, Lawson convenience stores in Japan are selling Kirby buns stuffed with a filling inspired by “Maxim Tomato,” a major item from the Kirby games. And as you can see in the picture below, Kirby retains his inherent cuteness even in this form.

Somehow, we think that Kirby would make an even tastier breakfast pastry. But these tomato-filled Kirby snacks are apparently a sensation. The Kotaku report indicates that some of the stores are already selling out of their Kirby snacks, even as more photos of these amusing creations have been shared online.

To top it off, the Kirby snacks are even inspiring their own fan artwork. Take for example, this image, which features one of our favorite meta pics of the day: Kirby eating a Kirby bun.

These Kirby snacks will only be available for a limited time, so keep that in mind if you’re planning any trips to Japan in the near future.

What did you think about these edible Kirby treats? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
