KINGDOM HEARTS 3 Trailer Features Hades and Teases the Return of [SPOILER]

Last month, Square Enix gave fans the disappointing news that Kingdom Hearts 3 isn’t going to be dropping anytime soon. But that doesn’t mean that the game isn’t coming at all! During last night’s Kingdom Hearts Orchestra concert in Los Angeles, a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 made its debut, and it has some interesting implications for the highly anticipated sequel.

The new footage takes players back into the realm of Disney’s Hercules, which has been featured in many of the earlier games in the series.  This time, there have been a few changes. Sora and his allies appear to be significantly more powerful than before, and the “Goofy bomb” attack looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun to use in the game. Naturally, there are plenty of Heartless to fight, but the most intriguing aspect of this preview is the battle between Sora and the Titans on Mount Olympus.

Whoever  Square Enix hired to voice Hades in this game deserves a raise. Even when speaking Japanese, he sounds amazingly like James Woods himself. It should be noted that Hades appears to no longer be on good terms with Maleficent and Pete, but that villainous duo are looking for a “black box” in Hades’ world.

However, the biggest revelation in the trailer comes at the end, when Goofy, Donald, and Sora are confronted by two of their main adversaries: Xemnas and Xehanort. According to Xemmas, Sora is attempting to bring back his Nobody, Roxas, from Kingdom Hearts 2. But the only way to do that is for Sora to call upon the darkness.

The video also notes that a new trailer and a new world for Kingdom Hearts 3 will be revealed July 15 at D23 in Anaheim.
