KILL BILL 3 is a ‘Possibility’ Says Quentin Tarantino

For several years, director Quentin Tarantino has downplayed the talk of a sequel to Kill Bill and Kill Bill Vol. 2, but it looks like there may yet be a third Kill Bill in our future.

While promoting his latest film, The Hateful Eight, Tarantino was asked whether he would revisit the idea of a Kill Bill Vol 3. “There definitely is a possibility [for Kill Bill 3],” replied Tarantino in an interview with What The Flick?! “Stop short of saying probability, but there could be.”

Tarantino went on to offer an explanation as to why he has waited so long to consider a sequel. “I put the character, Beatrix Kiddo through a lot,” said Tarantino. “So I wanted her to have this much time for peace. I wanted her to have some time with her daughter and not have to be on the genre machine. She could actually enjoy her life for a while.”

Previously, Tarantino has indicated that a third Kill Bill movie may revolve around Nikki Bell, the daughter of Vernita “Copperhead” Green (Vivica A. Fox), whom Beatrix (Uma Thurman) essentially invited to seek her revenge shortly after Nikki discovered that Beatrix had killed her mother in the first film. Tarantino even openly mused about filming actress Ambrosia Kelley in training sequences as she grew older, which would have been a darker spin on Boyhood years before that movie even came out.

In his latest interview, Tarantino did say that “everyone would be as old as they are” in the potential Kill Bill sequel. He also added that “[Kill Bill]…is probably my most visionary cinematic contribution. It would be nice to go back to a visceral world that’s not about the words anymore.”
