Key & Peele To Produce Reboot of POLICE ACADEMY

The reboot of the Police Academy franchise has been in the making for quite some time now, but it might have just gotten the little kick that it needs to put into production. Just announced yesterday, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele of the eponymous Comedy Central show Key & Peele, have officially signed on to produce the new Police Academy for New Line. The producer of the original 7 films and TV series, Paul Maslansky, will also be involved, but the prospect of one of the hottest sketch duos around these days stepping in adds an exciting new element to the film franchise.

I’d think that this reboot might lead to sequels. With that in mind, you have to ask yourself, while in a valet uniform, “What about Polices Academies 2, 3, 4 through 7, though?!?”

  1. Me Again says:

First off “Howler” (really?, Howler??) . Second. Not a Racist (Just not a fan of these types of comedies. I hated the Scary Movie series too. BTW another Wayans Brothers production, maybe I just don’t like their style) Third I am not a character from the Hobbit or any Fairy Tale. I live in a house and not under a bridge.

So Shove your pity cause I probably make more $$ than you and feel free to shake your head till you get a massive headache. That is on you and not me.

    Enjoy the show!

HAHA awesome can’t wait to see it lol.
i would love to be in this movie and if it is an all black movie you got to have at least one white guy haha.

  3. Howler says:

Lem, I appreciate what you’re trying to do, but I recommend not answering trolls. They don’t write racist crap like that because they believe it. They just are so sad and desperate for human companionship that even the thought of making someone angry or upset becomes appealing to them – makes them feel like they matter. They lack the skills or motivation to try to interact with people in acceptable ways, so that’s the best they can do. I tend to pity them, shake my head, and move on.

Anyway, Key and Peele are amazing comics. If there’s anyone I would trust to make something good out of an 80s comedy reboot, it would be them. Here’s hoping!

  4. Lem says:

C’mon man, movies like ‘the honeymooners’, ‘death at a funeral’ etc it’s easy to see why it may become an all black cast; simply because it’s a story that’s mostly about a family or tiny group of friends (so it makes sense if they are one race – white, black, whatever). But with police academy where it’s people from different walks of life meeting, obviously it won’t be an all black cast.

  5. Me says:

So I guess this will now be an all black cast? Can anyone say “The Honeymooners” remake??? Next you’ll be recasting Jesus as being played by Bill Cosby. Although I might actually watch that. Get me the Wayans Bros. on the phone STAT!
