Kevin Smith to Tackle The Avengers as M.O.D.O.K. in THE MARVEL EXPERIENCE TOUR

Yes, Christopher Reeve made the perfect Superman, Robert Downey Jr. was the ideal Iron Man, and Tom Hiddleston turned out to be the Loki of our dreams. But is there any pairing of comic book character and actor as perfect as that of Kevin Smith and M.O.D.O.K.?! The mutihyphenate fanboy has just been announced as the voice of A.I.M.’s Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing in The Marvel Experience Tour, the multimedia road show billed as the “World’s First Hyper Reality Tour.” The Marvel Experience (a.k.a. Now It’s Your Turn to Save the World) covers eighty thousand square feet and is built to look like S.H.I.E.L.D.’s command center. It consists of mazes, games, 3D films, and a 4D ride. Smith is currently in the middle of shooting his Tusk follow-up Yoga Hosers (starring Johnny Depp), so he will only lend his voice to the tour (though we’d love to see him floating through the air as M.O.D.O.K. in a Marvel Studios film). Here’s a new video announcing Smith’s involvement in the project…

The Marvel Experience will be in San Diego (where Smith will make his debut as M.O.D.O.K.) on February 7th through 22nd. Then it’ll take up residency in San Francisco from February 27th to March 22nd. East Coast cities and dates will follow.

“Ever since I was a wee butterball-looking comic book fan, I dreamed of going to a live event as amazing as ‘The Marvel Experience,'” says Smith. “This is like actually being inside of a giant comic book come to life.”

What do you folks think? Does Smith have what it takes to battle Captain America and the Avengers? Let us know below!

  1. Karen says:

The Dallas one was awesome. The lines were insane, but it was a lot of fun to be a superhero for a day.

  2. Taylor Anne says:

Really sad they didn’t get him for the Dallas dates! That would have been fun to pick out!

  3. Tex says:

Already came through Dallas, it was fun though built for younger audiences or groups of adults that want to enjoy it for its cornyness.

  4. I will have to be there…I suppose

  5. Joshua green says:

Well Kevin Smith is good and all that. But what about Patton Oswalt? Maybe they can switch off and each do a version of M.O.D.O.K. that would be cool.
