Of all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase III titles coming our way down the road, the Doctor Strange movie is one to be excited about. Arguably the classiest cast of any Marvel film, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Tilda Swinton bringing their Oscar-caliber talents to the fold, we’ve been hearing that Strange will be the first Marvel flick to completely avoid the gauche and potentially cumbersome origin story hurdle, but new information is changing that tune. While promoting the new Avengers: Age of Ultron Blu-ray release, Kevin Feige told IGN that Stephen Strange’s origin story is too unique and interesting to pass over, and we can’t help but agree. The story will also help introduce the threads of mysticism that run through the comics universe as more of Marvel’s interlocking stories come to the big screen.
Join Dan Casey as we explain the sorcerer surgeon’s mystic origin story from the comics and attempt to speculate which lady-love Rachel McAdams will portray in the film, on today’s Nerdist News.
