If the words “Keegan-Michael Key on You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes” didn’t get you to stop everything and listen, I don’t know what would. Pete came up with a new name for his guest, and they went off on riffs involving the great sunglasses conspiracy, 17th Century Seinfeld, werewolves, JFK impressions, Eminem in Eminemichigan, Cosby impressions — that’s just the first half hour. And there’s a bunch about the late Mel Farr, Superstar (who passed away just after this episode was recorded) and his flying commercials for his car dealership.

It was a return visit for Bryan Cranston on the Nerdist Podcast, and you got a teenage brush with a most infamous individual, some inspirational talk about doing what you love to do, ancestry, and dealing with fans. Also, there’s some instruction on convincing your spouse to… um… well, there’s practical advice.

Jen Kirkman came by the Nerdist Podcast to promote her Netflix special I’m Going To Die Alone And That’s Okay, and to talk about customer service. And small talk in general, specifically while having work done below the belt. Also, Jen talked about being a woman in comedy and growing old with someone, illustrated by her own parents’ long marriage.

My Drunk Kitchen creator Hannah Hart finally did the Nerdist Podcast solo (she was on with Grace Helbig and Harley Morenstein ages ago), and she has a book version of My Drunk Kitchen out now, which is pretty cool. So she talked about that, fizzy water, pooping, relationships, new media, and being a workaholic.

Mike and Tom tried a particularly summer-appropriate treat on Mike and Tom Eat Snacks. And explained their scientific system that sets their show apart from other snack-oriented programs. Earrrrrn it! Also, milk is not a fruit. You heard it first from Tom Cavanagh.

Paul Scheer offered facts and comedy and observations on Today We Learned, because that’s what happens on Today We Learned, sort of. And it just happened to be the 100th episode, which Razzle and Dan celebrated by changing the format to focus on Jock Jams. (Temporarily. Don’t tell Quad City DJs.) Anyway, you got talk about Tyrese, the global movie industry, ADHD, criticism, movies, fantasy sports, and Twizzlers and edamame at the movies. Edamame?

Bojack Horseman designer Lisa Hanawalt talked video games and horses on The Indoor Kids; Lisa was an audience suggestion, which is a good thing, because even though Emily and Kumail are friends of Lisa, they didn’t know she was a gamer, too. Lisa told the story of how she ended up designing Bojack, the process of making the show, and plenty more, including talk about Hollywood house parties, exercise, and Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.

Cartoon voice king Jess Harnell guested on Pop My Culture for a jaunt through current pop culture (including the demise of HitchBOT and the surfing tournament shark attack) and the world of voice acting.

In the penultimate Thrilling Adventure Hour, Frank and Sadie Doyle communed with nature, clowns, and, of course, ghosts. And alcohol.

Our ol’ pal Riki Lindhome (co-creator, Another Period; Garfunkel & Oates; Nerdist Podcast Network’s Making It), Mickey Fisher (creator, Extant), Tad Stones (creator, Darkwing Duck), Ben Edlund (creator, The Tick; Powers; Gotham), Cheryl Heuton (co-creator, Numb3rs), Jenny Klein (Supernatural), Aaron Ginsburg (The 100), and Patrick Schumacker (iZombie; co-creator, $#*! My Dad Says) were this week’s Nerdist Writers Panel from BAMFest at San Diego Comic Con.

Actor Clifton Collins Jr. visited Chewin’ It with Kevin and Steve, and he’s one of those guys who’s been in practically everything and is great in every role, so he came with stories galore. He’s got a book, Prison Ramen: Recipes and Stories from Behind Bars, full of, yes, ramen recipes from folks who have spent time in jail, and the stories that go with them. He also talked about working with Terrence Malick, getting parts in so many great projects, and about his grandfather, the actor Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez. And Kevin reveals which role he lost to Clifton.

At Outside Lands in San Francisco, Janet caught up with the latest Boy of Summer, the quite hilarious and, for this show, horizontal Ron Funches on The JV Club. Brandon Wardell returned to the showroom for another round of The Todd Glass Show. Trainer met trainer as Marcus Pierce talked to Tom on Pro You, while the Legacy Music Hour Mixtape remixed the Title Screen Music episode and producer and ghost specialist Chris Sanders joined Jess and Bowser on Bizarre States.
