DRACULA’s Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves Reunite in Rom-Com Trailer

It’s impossible to definitively say which romantic comedy is the greatest of all time. No objective measure can be used to compare them all, no onscreen couple connects with all of us the same way, and no humor will make us laugh in the exact same ways. So the odds that the upcoming rom-com Destination Wedding with Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, who first starred together in 1992’s Dracula, will be the best one ever are essentially zero. Except, based on the film’s first trailer, it totally will be, right?

This first look at the upcoming movie introduces us to Reeves’ Frank, a dry-witted, cynical jerk, and Ryder’s Lindsay, who revels in calling him out for being awful. The two find themselves butting heads immediately when they meet at the airport as they unknowingly travel to the same wedding. That’s just the start of their time together though, since the bride and groom have no one else to “stick” them with.

Considering Reeves’ shaggy look, it will be really easy to treat this as a strange John Wick sequel, where he tries to get away from assassinating to attend an old friend’s wedding, but I don’t need it. I love miserable Frank for who he is. And what more do any of us want or need from life than Keanu Reeves being the funniest guy alive while Winona Ryder chugs little bottles of wine and drags him for being a jerk?

So will this be the greatest rom-com ever when it comes to theaters on August 24? The odds say no. But it totally will be, right?
