Kanye West Will Perform on Saturday Night Live

Kanye West will be SNL‘s musical guest on the February 13 episode, hosted by Melissa McCarthy. But we are guessing you are probably going to be tuning in for the skits that will inevitably poke fun at the rap icon’s recent social media buzz.

Yeezy Season always bring shit-storms. In Kanye’s attempt to promote his new album WAVES (formerly known as SWISH), he got into an inscrutable, groan-worthy Twitter feud with rapper Wiz Khalifa that yielded memes about pants, respecting your elders… and butt stuff. So, in an attempt to shift the focus back on his actual music, Kanye will perform music from his new album, which drops two days before the episode airs.

The forthcoming episode will be Melissa McCarthy’s fourth time hosting the show and West’s seventh appearance. His last several performances on the show have been memorably atypical and attention commanding. Starting with his ballerina-filled performance of “Runaway” from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, he has used striking visuals on the show to promote his last LP, Yeezus, and his 2015 singles during SNL’s 40th anniversary special.

Say what you will about Kanye the egomaniacal, outburst prone man-child, but Kanye the artist knows how to put on one hell of a show, and I for one will most certainly be tuning in to see how he pushes the envelope even further with his latest performances.
