I don’t know if you’ve been following the latest adventures of Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon, but their History of Rap musical bits have had me hooked since Part 1. Each performance is a mash-up of their favorite rap songs, and it’s downright hysterical at times. Now, the unstoppable duo have slapped on their suits and reunited on The Tonight Show to sing and dance their way through a sixth installment.
Finally! We’ve been waiting for like, ever! This episode covers classics like Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems”, R. Kelly’s “Ignition”, and Salt-N-Pepa’s “Let’s Talk About Sex” (my personal favorite, that harmony!), as well as newer songs like Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” and Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now”.
Naturally, it also includes a (sort of) tribute to N.W.A.’s “Straight Outta Compton”. Justin tells his BFF, “Jimmy, we’ve been through this before — you are not straight outta Compton, you’re straight outta Upstate New York!” Aw, shucks. These guys are adorable.
Remember when they performed “Single Ladies” dance moves at the US Open? They just keep gifting us with special treats. Thanks, Justin, for taking time out of your fatherly duties. You and Jimmy have made us cry tears of joy–this video made my day, and I hope it will yours, too.
Be sure to check it out, and let us know what you think of History of Rap, Part 6, in the comments below. BFF’s Forever!
