Judd Apatow’s Netflix Series LOVE Gets Teaser Video and Premiere Date

Judd Apatow’s first stab at television since Undeclared (or more notably, the cult classic Freaks and Geeks), Love, is still a bit of a mystery, but today, we were given some valuable information about the upcoming Netflix series in the form of a new teaser video.

Sadly, the clip doesn’t include any footage, but instead features slides of 2016 to-do’s, like “be grateful,” “eat gluten again” and “have more sext.” However, it does tell us the show’s release date: February 19.

Love is described thusly by the show’s official synopsis: “Love follows nice guy Gus (Paul Rust) and brazen wild-child Mickey (Gillian Jacobs) as they navigate the exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, love and other things they were hoping to avoid. Love is an unflinching, hilarious and excruciatingly honest take on modern relationships.”

Netflix also shared an official photo from the series, which shows the two main protagonists seemingly epitomizing their disparate personalities.

The show’s post-Valentine’s Day premiere might be perfectly timed, allowing the blow of our romantic failures to be softened by Gus and Mickey’s tribulations, or, depending on how the series goes, perhaps our romantic triumphs will mirror the warts-and-all plotlines of Love.

Apatow has been busy doing movies over the past couple decades, so how well do you think his return to TV will fare? His last two programs were both short-lived, but also both critically acclaimed. Will Love share a similar fate as a nuanced program that might not be as immediately accessible as its contemporaries? Let us know what you think in the comments.
