While most people’s dream to duet with Miss Piggy is merely that, we’re jealous that Joseph Gordon-Levitt got to do the real thing on the latest episode of ABC’s The Muppets. Wearing a slick suit, he looked right at home performing the Frank Sinatra classic, “Fly Me to the Moon”, alongside our favorite diva.
We have to warn you if you watch the clip though: the whole thing kinda made us melt. We might have even caught a glimpse of Miss Piggy blushingâwhich, do you blame her? Has she finally found someone to heal her broken heart after her break up with Kermie? (We just want her to find the happiness she deserves.)
Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Muppet moment without some backstage shenanigans happening simultaneously. Like a broken headset, and some classic stage prop wrestling to make the situation just the right amount of precarious. Meanwhile, Kermit’s trying to just keep everything going despite everything. Awww, bless his little felt heart. Always the professional.
Gordon-Levittâthe debonair performer that he isâremains remarkably cool throughout the show, which, surely, only makes Miss Piggy more googly-eyed. When he realizes the potential danger at the end of the song, he shows off a swift protective move. Ever the gentleman! We think Miss Piggy is going to be okay, everybody. No need for alarm.
