Jonah Raydio is visited by actor/comedian/punk rocker John Ross Bowie. John was the bass player in pop punk band Egghead and is Barry Kripke in The Big Bang Theory. We talk about transitions from punk rock to comedy, and how to really break down The Hold Steady (just try to sound like Milhouse’s dad). Also! Music by P.O.S., Pujol, and Moonraker.

Too late for anyone to care, but just for the record: Cradle of Filth are from ENGLAND! Not Florida.
Piling on to the Cradle of Fifth accent jokes, I saw Sepultura post-Max leaving (but pre-Igor leaving) and Derrick said at one point, “We are Sepultura from Brazil!” Dude, you’re Derrick from Cleveland. But you’re gigantic so ok.
welp, posted in the wrong one
He’s from coastal BC? No wonder he thinks Montreal gets cold!
This was the first Jonah Raydio i’ve listened to and I love it. Good job there buddy
John Ross Bowie sounds like Mark Adkins from Guttermouth.
Not really into P.O.S. Between Brother Ali and Aesop Rock, Rhymesayers has been putting out some great albums this year, but that new P.O.S is straight dog doo-doo.
Sonic Youth and Jawbreaker references in your pics?
Ok Jonah Ray, you win, I’ll listen to your podcast 🙂
OMG!!! LOVE the Sonic Youth reference in the pic!!!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
I am glad to hear a bit of rap on today’s show and I can agree that Brother Ali is a great rapper. Also Cecil Otter, also from Doom Tree is a great rapper. Two of my favorites.
