Jon Stewart Visited Stephen Colbert to Discuss Exactly What You’d Expect

It’s been an interesting time in America lately, as we’ve watched the country make its way through uncharted political waters. It hasn’t been much fun for anyone, and it certainly hasn’t been especially funny. But if there’s any way to find some levity in the situation, we know just who to turn to: Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

Last night the former Daily Show host visited his old Comedy Central colleague on Colbert’s Late Show for the first time since the inauguration. Stewart came out wearing what he imagines is the new style of the day–a dead animal on his head and the world’s longest red tie–to share his exclusive sneak peak at the upcoming executive orders that will be signed at the White House. (They were much funnier than what has been signed so far.)

The two, as per usual, couldn’t get through the entire segment without cracking each other up, and there’s a mysterious edit in the middle of the segment where Stewart read part of the bit off of a scroll (feel free to upload that too, CBS!). For those of us who miss having the both of them at the ready to satirize politics on TV every night, it was nice (and helpful) to have them back together for one evening.

But even better than that was the final proclamation Stewart read, which was not intended to make us laugh, but rather to give us all a little hope that things will be okay. Eventually. Hopefully.

At the very least there’s no way that long tie thing catches on, and that’s good.

What’s your all-time favorite Stewart segment on The Daily Show? What about the best one from the Colbert Report? We could use some more laughs these days, so share your picks in the comments below.
