Ubisoft has released an accolades trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity, featuring gameplay from the seventh console game in the stealth action series. And it’s chock full of sweet, sweet revolutionary murder.
The next entry in the series, set in the midst of the French Revolution, puts players in control of new lead character Arno Dorian, who’s out to expose some of the injustices during the notoriously bloody decade which closed out the 18th century. The new trailer doesn’t offer much in the way of new story details (or how the long-running, ancient aliens-tinged battles between the Assassins and the Templars will factor into the plot this time out).
Still, it’s a chance to see Ubisoft’s next-gen friendly AnvilNext engine in action, featuring plenty of crowd scenes with hundreds of members of the digital rabble joining the fight.
So what are your thoughts on the series’ first next-gen hero? I feel like now is as good a time as any to revisit the question of why Ubisoft didn’t offer a female Assassin to the game’s multiplayer mode (the developer and publisher said that it would require too much additional work to animate a female character after putting in the effort for Arno). At first glance, at least, Arno doesn’t appear to animate all that differently from the last three leads: Edward, Connor, and Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation heroine Aveline.
During E3, we took a look at Unity on the show floor and spoke with developers about the co-op for the series’ first built-from-the-ground-up next gen title.
Assassin’s Creed Unity is coming to the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 28.

Why does the narrator have an English accent if the game takes place during the French Revolution?
I was going to watch the trailer but it was too hard to render my attention.
looks just like every other assassins creed game. the first game was and still is the best assassins creed yet. at least black flag tried to be different
As a history nerd, the gameplay may be the same…but being able to play in different era’s while retaining much of the same gameplay is what makes Assassin’s Creed so awesome.
Agreed!
The first one sucked what in the hell are you talking about
