Nerdist Special Reports

Join Our Comic-Con Nerd Safari!

Geeks and nerds are fascinating creatures. They don’t mimic other organisms to escape predation or for camouflage, they mimic organisms they admire. They have a tendency to form long lines without adequate food or water just for a chance to be in the presence of other geeks. And if you’re a naturalist like me, there’s no better place to study these shy creatures than at San Diego Comic-Con–a yearly migration to an ocean congregation.

The video above documents my first journey to this gathering of geeks, including what I learned, what kinds of geeks were there, and the other hunter I met along the way.

I think next year I’ll bring a bigger net.
