John Williams’ Iconic STAR WARS Themes Played on Intricate Player Pianos

As impressive as the Star Wars films look, they wouldn’t be what they are without John Williams’ incredible music. So if you’re going to play those beloved songs you might as well make your performance look as good as they sound.

It’s tough to do that better than this beautifully performed and wonderfully adorned piano medley.

Created by the folks at Player Piano, this composition of some of the best selections from John Williams’ iconic Star Wars score was arranged and performed by Sonya Belousova, and includes three medleys. The first has the main title song and “Duel of the Fates,” the second is Princess Leia’s theme, and the final one has “The Imperial March” and the end credits song.

If this were just a medley of Star Wars songs played by a supremely talented pianist that would be cool enough on its own, but the dedication to making this as much a visual experience as it is an aural one is what truly makes this special. I mean, look at that Millennium Falcon piano! It lights up! And the R2-D2 one is just as awesome.

The costumes and lighting are just as important to making this so damn cool. The attention to detail (like having the one black glove on in Belousova’s “Luke from Return of the Jedi” attire) did not go unnoticed and was very much appreciated by this writer.

If you’d like to play this yourself, you can buy the sheet music for the entire medley, or even just the individual ones.

With a plethora of other Star Wars songs, they say this might not be the only one of these performances. “With so many great themes to choose from, we have a feeling we’ll be returning to the galaxy.”

Hopefully that next video is not far, far away.

What other Star Wars song would you like them to include in their next medley? Tell us below.
