September 1 will always be a memorable day in the world of Harry Potter, because on this day every year the Hogwarts Express leaves Kingâs Cross Station to start another school year. However, this yearâs train holds a special place in the hearts of Harry Potter fans worldwide because today marks the first day of school for one very particular boy.
I'm in Edinburgh, so could somebody at King's Cross wish James S Potter good luck for me? He's starting at Hogwarts today. #BackToHogwarts

Thatâs right, Harry and Ginnyâs son, James Sirius Potter, begins his seven-year journey at Hogwarts today. Born in 2004 and named after his grandfather, James, and Harryâs godfather, Sirius, the eldest Potter child heads off in the great tradition of both his parents’ families.
As for J.K. Rowling, fans made sure to help her out in sending the youngster off with love.
Thanks! Say 'hi' back, but only if it won't interrupt any burgeoning friendships. https://t.co/Al54tGHvWK

Today marks just the first departure for the Potter children. In two years it will be Albus Severus Potterâs turn, and then in a couple of years after that their baby sister, Lily Luna, will join them.
In case the train has wifi now, just a heads up to you James Sirius Potter, try to avoid being punched in the nose by any Malfoy, and if you ever miss the train just send an owl so you donât get in trouble. Don’t put off studying, because before you know it you’ll be taking your O.W.L.s. Really though, none of this has to be scary; in fact, today has the potential to change your life forever.. Your father met your aunt and uncle on this very trip so many years ago.
I hope your time at Hogwarts is a little less stressful for you than it was for your parents, James. Accio good luck.
