Jimmy Fallon is Taking THE TONIGHT SHOW on Vacation to Orlando

Since Jimmy Fallon took over The Tonight Show earlier this year, one of the longest running programs on NBC’s programming schedule has received a much needed energy boost. The musical numbers that Fallon regularly leads, the games he plays with his guests, and Fallon’s unstoppable enthusiasm have all been part of a successful transition, thus far, from Jay Leno to Jimmy Fallon. Now that Fallon has hit the ground running, he’s going to make Tonight Show history by taping a week of episodes in Orlando, FL.

From June 16th through the June 19th this summer, The Tonight Show will be taped remotely at the Universal Orland Resort. This might not sound all that groundbreaking since Conan O’Brien, Craig Ferguson, and Jimmy Kimmel have, for years, all taken their respective late night talk shows from the comforts of their sound stages to remote locations such as Atlanta, Chicago, Paris, and Austin, TX. However, neither Jay Leno or even Johnny Carson took The Tonight Show away from its home. Carson did move The Tonight Show from New York City to Los Angeles, then Fallon brought it back to NYC, but those moves were permanent ones.

More often than not, these remote “vacation” episodes of late night talk shows tend to be some of the more fun, memorable ones throughout the run of an entire late night talk show. Fallon is already planning to give a first look at Diagon Alley and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and has slated Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, and Tracy Morgan as guests. Maybe The Roots will even play with a bit more Caribbean flavor while down in Orlando.
