Jimmy Eat World Played New Song “Sure and Certain” on COLBERT

No, no, don’t worry, you aren’t old. You are really old, just like we are. Of that we are sure and certain, because Jimmy Eat World‘s Bleed American came out over 15 years ago. The good news for us old fogies is that the band from Mesa, Arizona is still out there making new albums, and last night they performed one of their latest tracks live on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The band played “Sure and Certain” off of their upcoming ninth studio album, Integrity Blues, which we first listened to at Spin. The guys had previously released the song back in August, the second from their forthcoming 11-track album. The other song released thus far was “Get Right,” This is the band’s first new album since 2013’s Damage.

Integrity Blues
will be released in a few weeks, on October 21, but they’ll hit the road for a short tour in the U.S. starting on October 7 in Park City, Utah, and ending at the Troubador in Los Angeles on October 29. They will then head out to Europe for a month long tour in November. You can find the complete list of dates and grab tickets for those shows at their website.

Even if we are getting older, it’s easier to deal with when one of the best bands of your youth is doing it with us, still producing music and making us feel like things haven’t changed that much. 2001 wasn’t that long ago, after all.

So what do you think of the new song? Take some time and tell us in the comments below what you think.
