Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels Stage a DUMB AND DUMBER Reunion on CONAN

It’s been over two decades since Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey first shared the screen in Dumb and Dumber, a comedy film that’s taken on a life of its own. Even 2014’s Dumb and Dumber To hasn’t diminished the impact of the first film, and the bond it created between Daniels and Carrey. During Daniels’ recent guest appearance on Conan, host Conan O’Brien recruited Carrey to crash the episode, much to Daniels’ apparent surprise.

It only took a few moments for Daniels and Carrey to reestablish their comedic chemistry. But perhaps Daniels should have been suspicious when O’Brien brought up Dumb and Dumber during a segment meant to plug his new Hulu drama, The Looming Tower. Carrey even alluded to that when he mentioned Daniels’ “hilarious” new show, “Loony Tower,” before jokingly telling Daniels to talk about how starring in Dumb and Dumber changed his life. Daniels gamely agreed that it had changed his life and said working with Carrey was a blast. They also recalled how they first came together.

Both actors insisted that they still love working together, even though the sequel wasn’t very well received. Carrey also revealed that he and O’Brien are neighbors now, although they played up the notion that O’Brien is avoiding him. Before ending the segment, Carrey and O’Brien teased an upcoming comedy video they shot for the show. It should be online within the near future
