JESSICA JONES Season 2 Trailer Has Us Thrilled

It’s been more than two years since the first season of Netflix and Marvel Studios‘ Jessica Jones, and while fans got a glimpse of our favorite dark-haired detective in The Defenders, we’ve certainly been jonesing for more. Well, finally, our long national nightmare is over: Netflix and Marvel Studios have dropped the official season two trailer. And, let me tell you, it looks pretty incredible.

The trailer picks up pretty much where the first season ended, with the mystery of what really caused the accident that killed Jessica’s family and how she got her powers. This appears to be the central mystery of season two, with Jessica using her detective skills to track down those responsible, including a mysterious woman who suggests Jessica was not the only one given powers—and that she’ll have to face someone (or perhaps multiple someones) with similar powers.

But, Jessica won’t be alone. Her adopted sister and sometime frenemy Trish Walker is back and, in a key moment in the trailer, suggests Jessica needs “a sidekick.” Trish kicked some serious butt in the first season, but that sidekick line suggests we might see her take on something like the Hellcat role of her comics predecessor. (Though, this being Jessica Jones, I don’t expect to see Trish actually put on the yellow jumpsuit or cat ears anytime soon.)

There’s also a mysterious new figure out to buy Alias Investigations from Jessica. Is he tied into the conspiracy that resulted in her family’s death? Or is he perhaps a potential ally? We’ll have to wait and see.

The trailer looks incredible, and I can’t wait to watch when the full season drops on March 8. Does the trailer have you excited for the new season of Jessica Jones, too? Tell us in the comments!
