America’s reigning sweethearts are the top story in today’s Movie Morsels, which features the first ever video look at Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt‘s sci-fi romantic thriller Passengers. Plus, the latest news on the next screen version of Robin Hood, and much more!
Passengers
Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt have each headlined two science-fiction franchises;Â hers of course are The Hunger Games and X-Men, while his are the blockbusters Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World. So it’s only fitting that sci-fi should also be the genre of their first onscreen pairing. Sony has just released its first look at the trailer for Passengers, in which Lawrence and Pratt play two people awakened from deep sleep on a spacecraft in the midst of an interstellar voyage. Imitation Game helmer Morten Tyldum directs the December 21 release, which co-stars Michael Sheen and Laurence Fishburne.

Robin Hood: Origins
Ridley Scott’s 2010 Robin Hood, the last cinematic take on the English legend, wasn’t the tale’s most successful iteration. But since Hollywood believes we can never have too many movies about the original emerald archer, pre-production has begun on Lionsgate’s Robin Hood: Origins. Directed by Otto Bathurst, the film will star Taron Egerton in the title role, Jamie Foxx as Little John, and Eve Hewson as Maid Marian. Fifty Shades of Grey‘s Jamie Dornan (pictured above) is now in talks to play Will Scarlett, who, in this version, will be married to Marian when she falls for the outlaw of Sherwood Forrest.
Breed
Karyn Kusama has not always had the best of luck when it comes to genre filmmaking. After her acclaimed debut Girlfight, she helmed the high-profile misfire Aeon Flux and the polarizing Jennifer’s Body. But Kusama rebounded this year with the indie thriller The Invitation, and she’s poised to continue her streak with Breed: a horror flick based on Chase Novak’s novel about a married couple whose trip to a European fertility clinic has nightmarish consequences.
