Jeff Goldblum Sings the JURASSIC PARK Theme Like the Nerd God He Is

It’s amazing how some of the most iconic instrumental theme songs out there have lyrics most people have never heard of. The original Star Trek, for example. It had lyrics written by Gene Roddenberry himself. Then there’s Carrie Fisher’s infamous interpretation of the Star Wars theme lyrics. (Bill Murray — as lounge singer Nick Winters on Saturday Night Live — found more success with a different set of Star Wars lyrics.) Now consummate entertainer and Renaissance Man Jeff Goldblum has won our hearts with his take on John Williams’ timeless Jurassic Park anthem. The former Ian Malcolm appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers yesterday, and performed the tune, wrapping his smooth-as-silk vocals around every syllable. Bear witness to the sexiness below.

Speaking of Steven Spielberg‘s groundbreaking dino hit and Star Trek, did you know that Trek theme composer Alexander Courage also assisted orchestrating Jurassic Park‘s musical cues?

Seriously, to the short list of things that would make me die happy I will now add Jeff Goldblum setting a plate of milk and cookies on my nightstand, pulling up a chair alongside my bed, singing the Jurassic Park theme, and tucking me in, so I may dream dreamy dreams of raptor-ridden Isla Nublar…

Hey, Chris Pratt! You’re a singer, you’re starring in next summer’s Jurassic Park 4 (a.k.a. Jurassic World) — how about giving us your own Jurassic song? Or even challenging Mr. Goldblum to a sing-off? Let it be know that the gauntlet has been thrown down.
