Jeff Goldblum Guest DJ-ed for KCRW and It’s Positively Delightful

For those of you who may know about Jeff Goldblum the meme, actor, or musician you should also know that the man is basically a walking encyclopedia with an impressive mind for history. Like the best wiki-wormhole you’ve ever been down, if you give him any inkling of a topic, he can just run away with information and related tangents, croaking with excitement as if it’s the first time he has ever relayed the information. The Nerdist team witnessed this firsthand last year at Goldblum’s weekly jazz gig at The Rockwell in Los Angeles. Boy was that a treat.

The next best thing to see the ‘Blum in person? Listening to the man himself narrate significant moments of his life and the songs that soundtracked them on KCRW’s Guest DJ Project. Whether it’s Miles Davis’s “My Funny Valentine,” which Jeff uses in lieu of an alarm clock to get out of bed, or Charles Wright’s “Express Yourself,” which reminds him of his early acting career in New York City, Goldblum is full of interesting tales about his past. It is truly a shame that the segment is merely ten minutes as we could listen to him talk for hours. The music he picks is jazzy, wonderful and a perfectly uplifting soundtrack if you are looking to be soothed, motivated, or even merely just entertained.

Keep on keepin’ on, DJ Jazzy Jeff Goldblum. As long as you’ve got things to say, we’ve got time to listen.
