The Dothraki Knight Rises? Khal Drogo is getting all up in your DC Universe as Jason Momoa is in talks to join Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot in the cast of the currently untitled Man of Steel sequel. Heat Vision is speculating he could be playing Doomsday or Martian Manhunter in the film. If he is indeed being set to play J’onn J’onnz, then that is one of the JLA’s heaviest hitters on the board and this is looking more like the reports this is a back door Justice League movie rather than a Batman Vs. Superman film are true.
Callan Mulvey was reportedly up for the role of the film’s big bad, which may take Doomsday off the table for Momoa. For our part, we’d love to float a much cooler idea, Jason Momoa as The Main Man himself, Lobo. Come on. Search your heart, you know it to be true. You want the Khaleesi’s main squeeze to be the biggest bastich in the galaxy. Stay tuned for more details as they come out.
UPDATE: This could be rumor, but a somewhat reliable source has reached out and said that Momoa is in talks to play Metallo. This could just be more unconfirmed speculation, but the source was accurate in their prediction of Gal Gadot, so take it as you will. Metallo, Doomsday, Martian Manhunter, and Lobo, who are you hoping Momoa is playing in the upcoming film?
I would like to see him play Vandal Savage, while he has the look for Lobo not sure if he has the character.
That said, Vandal Savage is a big character so it’s unlikely, he would make a better Justice League villain that just Superman/Batman, and I’m pretty sure the JL will be up against Darkseid first so perhaps it be best to keep Vandal Savage in the pocket for the Justice League whether the first or the second.
My money is on Mongul, who has been an opponent for the Big Three in the comics on multiple occasions. Although the idea of Momoa playing Lobo is awesome.
When listening to Joe Manganiello on the Nerdist Podcast #369 I felt like Joe was trying to lobby for the Lobo role (although he never said it directly). I haven’t re-listened to the show, but I walked away thinking “Man, Joe would make a great Lobo!” Guess there may be competition, or with this news, maybe not.
If Momoa plays anybody BUT Lobo, then it will be proof without any doubt that DC/Warner are truly run by a bunch of idiots.
And for those of you doubting that he could pull it off… watch “GoT”.

I am opposed to all of the DC universe being shoe-horned into what is supposed to be a Superman movie, but with that said, I would LOVE to see Khal Drogo as Lobo!
they may as well just call it justice league with all these DC super heroes lined up to be in it.
Warner Bros need to stop playing around and just say that this is a “Backdoor Justice League” movie. Once Batman was introduced it was no longer a “Man of Steel” movie.
