Jared Leto’s Joker Gets an EMPIRE Magazine Cover

Did someone say, “Siiiiiick!”? Because Empire Magazine has released a set of limited edition collectible covers for October 2015 issue to celebrate the upcoming Warner Bros. and DC film Suicide Squad. The first cover to be revealed? Well it depicts none-other than Oscar-winner Jared Leto as everyone’s favorite comic book villain, The Joker.

Set ablaze atop an acid trip nightmare of a background, Leto’s Joker pops with his stark white form, shockingly green hair, and mess of tattoos all cloaked in a deep purple alligator-skin trench coat. Joker’s bare feet and Arkham Asylum pajama pants could indicate an escape from the institution at some point in the film. The coat and his purple pimp cane, however, suggest that this version of The Joker is one who appreciates decadence in style and form—even if he doesn’t have the time for a full outfit change.

When it was announced that Leto was going to be portraying the Clown Prince of Crime in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, the internet went ablaze with opinions. Leto did win many people back this summer at San Diego Comic Con, though, as the first trailer for the film impressed many. Now—with the full costume revealed—the world will get another chance to weigh in on this GG-Allin-meets-Lil’-Wayne version of the Joker.

In the meantime, here’s our theory on who The Joker may actually be (spoiler alert!):

What do you think of the full costume? Are you ready to finally see this film come to life? Let us know in the comments below!
