Imagine it’s late October and you are facing two very urgent, very serious problems: the first is that you are currently under siege from a horde of vampires, and the second is that you are really hungry. Both of these are huge, pressing matters, but which is the more important one to deal with? That’s truly tough to answer. Fortunately you won’t have to choose this Halloween, thanks to these new Black Garlic Doritos out of Japan.
We first came across this spooky-inspired snack at Bloody Disgusting, and we’re not exactly sure why they are a Japanese-only product, since black garlic flavored Doritos sound pretty damn wonderful (though you can try ordering them from JList or napaJapan.com), and especially practical this time of year. Even though the bag might be adorned with a vampire and some bats, garlic is a classic vampire repellent, which means you can safely serve these at your Nerdoween bash without fear of having your party overrun by some charming but bloodthirsty undead intruders.

If you are starting to get the feeling that the good people of Japan are really into eating black food that is not normally black in color, well you aren’t wrong. We’ve already told you about their black ninja dogs from IKEA, their black anchovy paste bun Ghostbusters burgers, as well as their “Pitch Black” Studio Ghibli cheeseburgers. We guess now they have the perfect snack to eat alongside those items, and that will be true even after Halloween.
Because just like your desire to eat Doritos, vampires never sleep.
Well, except during the day.
But you know what we mean.
Just be safe out there.
So what do you think of this new snack? Something you want to sink your teeth into? Tell us why in the comments below.
