Japanese Pianist Performs Incredible MARIO KART 8 Covers

Usually when one thinks of a game like Mario Kart 8, one is treated to PTSD-fueled visions of desperately trying to drift around a corner on Rainbow Road in order to escape the inevitable pain and heartbreak of a blue shell aimed squarely at dashing your hopes of victory. Equally important, however, is the game’s iconic score and sound effects which bring the street racing chaos of the Mushroom Kingdom to life. Now, in a brand new video from Japanese pianist ZimuinG, Mario Kart 8‘s score is given new life as a beautiful piano score. From the menu screen music to the sounds effects that play when you get an item, every part of the score is reimagined by ZimuinG’s ivory-ticklin’ fingers.

Now if I could get him to rework the entire score of Final Fantasy Tactics for my 375,312th playthrough, that would be great.

What other video game scores would you like to hear him tackle? Let us know in the comments below or tell me on Twitter (@Osteoferocious)
