Remember when you first saw the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer and heard “Hooked on a Feeling”? Remember how you really WERE hooked on a feeling? Now imagine that feeling times twelve, because that’s the number of feel-good tunes on the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack, better know as Star-Lord Peter Quill’s “Awesome Mix Vol. 1.” Director James Gunn has released the full track list on his Facebook page, and it’s packed with enough classic pop and rock to put joy (and an earworm) in every filmgoer on the planet. And get a load of the soundtrack cover…
“Woo hoo! So happy they had the balls to go with this simple design,” says the director, pointing out that it can be pre-ordered now on Amazon. Regarding the music, Gunn adds, “NOTE: this is not the entirety of the Mixed Tape that Peter Quill listens to, the one that I gave to Chris Pratt that he listened to endlessly before the movie started. That is a longer list, that includes these songs, among others. I’ll release that full list closer to the release of the film.”
Just look at the list of tunes the soundtrack contains, and try not to imagine Pratt and co. blowin’ stuff up and crackin’ wise to ’em…
1. Blue Swede â Hooked on a Feeling
2. Raspberries â Go All the Way
3. Norman Greenbaum â Spirit in the Sky
4. David Bowie â Moonage Daydream
5. Elvin Bishop â Fooled Around and Fell in Love
6. 10Cc â Iâm Not in Love
7. Jackson 5 â I Want You Back
8. Redbone â Come and Get Your Love
9. The Runaways â Cherry Bomb
10. Rupert Holmes â Escape (The Pina Colada Song)
11. The Five Stairsteps â O-O-H Child
12. Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell â Ainât No Mountain High Enough
The film has been released! Where is the longer list??
Awesome I hop they make voluhe 2
that list needs Roxy Music’s “Remake Remodel”
Frak It, no ‘Slow Ride’ from Foghat Live…
Didn’t realize Star Lord was in his mid to late 40s.
Peter Quill was a kid in the 80s when he was abducted.
He had really cool parents with a killer vinyl stash
Superheroes don’t age normally you know. 😉
Peter even has an excuse for it, being half alien.
On a related note, his dad wasn’t human…
his mom made him the mix tapes, from her childhood.. She’d be in her mid to late 40’s
I hope you guys realize that these won’t necessarily all be played in the film… It’s just songs that relate to one or more of the characters, their musical tastes, and the events of the film…
Thats not true this is about his mixed tape nothing more!
Quite literally every single song in this movie.
Bahahaha. And yet… every song was in the movie.
Gag. Track 10 should be killed with fire. The song may be funny to hear in context during the film, but otherwise it’s nails on a chalkboard every time I hear that song. Maybe Star-Lord plays it and Ronan runs away screaming.
Nah, it’s awesome. F Seven!!!!! (You just pushed F Eight…”
it all depends on when the song was made.If you notice he is rocking a Caset tape sony walkman not a cd.He was taken when he was a kid.
This needs to be available on vinyl.
No word on an album of the musical score? Just wondering…
No. There will be no album of the musical score. Get with the program, dude. Everyone knows that Marvel and Disney both detest making money.
Yep, there will be. Read here:

Although I’m not putting too much hope into Bates
I was being sarcastic, but thanks for the link!
This looks more like the soundtrack for a Tarantino movie than a Marvel movie! Can’t wait to see how they’re all worked in to the movie!
Totally had the same idea!
I imagined Quill to have a little more Rock and Funk?

Ain’t no Mountain is played out. Sigh. Gonna buy it anyway.
Agreed. Isn’t that song only for movies about women crying
You won’t be saying that when Rocket & Star-Lord have a duet at the end of the movie
Done. Made it a playlist on Spotify.
love it
Must have soundtrack!
