The new season of Epic Rap Battles of History continues this week with a spy matchup for the ages: James Bond vs. Austin Powers!
Surprisingly, this is the first time that Bond and Powers have gone head-to-head on ERB… perhaps because there hasn’t been a new Austin Powers movie in 14 years. For this video, ERB co-creator Peter Shukoff (a.k.a. Nice Peter) steps into Mike Myers’ signature role, even donning Austin Powers’ horrific teeth, as he faces off against the modern Bond, as portrayed by Ben Atha.
Nice Peter directed the video, which neatly recaptures the look and tone of the Austin Powers movies, including the Go Go Dancers, and the random shot of Austin in his underwear. Behave!
However, the Daniel Craig Bond loses his chance to score a victory when ERB co-creator Lloyd Ahlquist (a.k.a. EpicLLOYD) crashes the video as the original cinematic James Bond, à  la Sean Connery. There are even a few Connery-specific jokes in there, especially about his last movie. And this Bond doesn’t mind slapping Powers or his younger counterpart around to establish his dominance. Even a teamup between modern Bond and Powers doesn’t seem to phase classic Bond, although Powers seems to be genuinely excited to see the two Bonds destroy each other in verse. However, the video ends just when things get really interesting.
