Jaimie Alexander Says Lady Sif Has ‘Pivotal Part’ in THOR: RAGNAROK

Jaimie Alexander may be on the cusp of greater stardom after headlining NBC’s Blindspot this fall as the enigmatic Jane Doe. But Marvel fans know her best as Lady Sif, from the Thor films.

Alexander recently confirmed that she will be back for the third film in the Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok. And while questions have persisted about the size of Lady Sif’s part in the next Thor, Alexander has made it clear that her character will be important in that film.

“Marvel, I think on purpose, they don’t tell me certain things,’ said Alexander. “Because they know I’ll be like, ‘So here’s what’s gonna happen.’ But I do know I will be in Thor 3 and that Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie. I just can’t tell you what because I’ll get shot.”

Alexander also hinted that story elements from Thor: Ragnarok have already been teased in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“There’s a lot of great stuff they’ve peppered in through Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” related Alexander. “The Avengers, [Captain America: Civil War] will have some stuff. There’s just all kind of Easter eggs and hints, if you’re really paying attention. They’re so good at interweaving everything throughout those films.”

While Alexander’s gig on Blindspot makes it less likely that she will make another guest appearance as Lady Sif on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., she did share her experience about getting the call to reprise her role for the second season of that series.

“When I did that episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. I had a week’s notice,” revealed Alexander. “It takes me about three months to bulk for Sif. I was like, ‘Oh no,’ and I don’t have my armor to really sell it either. Gonna have to rely on the voice and the wig. It was fun. And it was a really cool space to play up Sif’s vulnerability. Which I think makes her more relatable to everybody.

Thor: Ragnarok will open on July 28, 2017.
