Jack White Has A Google Cardboard Virtual Reality App Called ‘Third-D’

Remember that first scene of It Might Get Loud when Jack White, outside of a seemingly neglected rural home, builds an electric guitar out of a plank of wood, three nails, an empty Coca-Cola bottle, and some wire (essentially making him the Nick Offerman of Rock & Roll)? That was perhaps the most telling scene of Jack White’s existence ever. don’t have what you need to make the sound you want? build it yourself: “Who says you need to buy a guitar?”

Applying both his DIY propensity and his dedication to immersive music experiences, Jack White and his team have created a virtual reality app via Google Cardboard called “Third-D.” Once you have purchased or made your own cardboard housing (you know, the Jack White-approved way) and placed in your Android phone (sorry iOS homies), you can experience a 360-degree. stereoscopic 3-D performance. You’ll get to see Jack White perform “Freedom At 21” and “Ball and Biscuit” at The Bleacher Theater at Fenway Park and “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.

And if you live in Nashville, the home base for White’s Third Man Records, you can get an in-store tutorial of the app today.

Now excuse me while I disassemble the nearest Amazon Prime box and steal Malik’s Android. Brb real life.
