J.J. Abrams Invites STAR WARS Fans to Donate for Chance to Attend the Premiere (Exclusive)

Last week, some Star Wars fans who supported Omaze’s first Star Wars: Force for Change fundraising campaign received a special call. They were surprised by Harrison Ford. That deal got better all the time. Ford let them and us know about Omaze’s latest Star Wars campaign, and to follow up, Omaze has released a second video about the endeavor featuring a special message from J.J. Abrams and members of the cast. No, not Mark Hamill–more on that in a minute.

As Abrams points out, when he recorded the initial Omaze video, production had just begun on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We’re weeks away from the premiere now, and Abrams is at a mixing stage in Los Angeles finishing the movie. He’s joined by the cast of the film to list all the charities the latest campaign will support. You donate money–as little as $10–and get the chance to win a trip to the red carpet premiere in either London or Los Angeles and meet cast members. Two grand prize winners will be chosen after the campaign ends on December 4 (that’s nine days away, so don’t wait!).

Funds raised by Omaze will equally support causes nominated by Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, and the cast. They include: Africa Cancer Foundation, Arts in the Armed Forces, Barnardo’s UK, Central London Samaritans, Damilola Taylor Trust, Stop Warrior Project, Feeding America, Make-A-Wish, Malala Fund, PACER Center, Phab, St. Francis Hospice, The Circle, UNICEF, and Union of Concerned Scientists.

At the end of the video, Abrams nods at the endless “Where’s Luke?” questions by asking “Where’s Mark Hamill?” Maybe he’ll pop up in the next video for this Omaze campaign? We can certainly hope.

Donate and enter to win the trip to the premiere at Omaze. How many entries did you go for? Let me know in the comments.
