As the first season of iZombie winds down, itâs been an enlightening glimpse into the modern zombie lifestyle. Take-out brain food services and tanning beds are dierigueur as modern zombies try to find their way and keep their full zombie freakouts to a minimum. Like a quarter-life crisis, but with more death.
Protagonist Liv Mooreâs eating habits are entrancing. Watching the way she dresses her food to make it seem more palatable every week is inspiring. She makes brains look, well… delicious. This recipe is inspired by Livâs food creativity, but I have a secret that will disappoint zombie everywhere: itâs not really brains at all. Despite what it looks like there are no brains in this dish, simply strawberry Jell-o with a swirl of Greek Yogurt poured into brain molds. It’s not for the squeamish, though; it still looks pretty real.
Sit back and enjoy a Liv Moore-inspired Spicy Noodle Salad as you watch this weekâs finale of iZombie!

youâll need:

In a bowl, stir the Jell-o in boiling water until dissolved.
Let cool slightly then stir in the Greek Yogurt.
Pour into the tiny brain molds and chill in the refrigerator until set.
In a small pot bring water to a boil and boil the somen noodles for 2 minutes. Drain and rinse.
Place the somen in the bottom of a plate, layer with the lettuce, pecans and pomegranate seeds. Add the Italian dressing then drizzle with Sriracha. Pop out the gelatin brains from their molds and place onto the salad to serve.
