It’s Turbo Time With This JINGLE ALL THE WAY Turbo Man Figure Kickstarter

“You can always count on me!”

We want to believe you when you say that, Turbo Man, but for far too long we haven’t even been able to count on getting a decent action figure of you. Until now, that is, thanks to a new Kickstarter that is looking to make a high-quality, exact replica of the hard-to-find toy at the center of the Arnold Schwarzenegger 1996 Christmas movie Jingle All the Way.

That’s right, boys and girls, it really is Turbo Time!

J.R. DeJesus is trying to raise $13,000 dollars to craft identical versions of the very figure used in the making of the movie. Jingle All The Way‘s director, Brian Levant, even gave him the original props from the film so he can 3D-scan Turbo Man and assure that his figure is just like the one that led to Sinbad and Schwarzenegger abandoning their families all day on Christmas Eve (ah the magic of the holiday season).

However, these figures will be even better than the one from the movie he is scanning, because he intends to make his 14-and-a-half inch figure fully poseable, whereas the figure seen at the end of the movie was stationary. (The figure he is making is based on the one that was actually sold out in the film, the “hottest toy” ever, but he is scanning the giant one from the parade at the end of the film.)

He has already confirmed that the figures will have a gold chrome paint too, so they will really shine when they fight Dementor.

The Kickstarter is for 100 figures, which you can get for backing the campaign at $130 (no limit on how many you can get either). As of this writing 24 are accounted for, with over $3,600 towards the ultimate goal raised with 26 days left to go. If fully funded the figures are expected to ship sometime in May of 2017.

This actually isn’t the first time a Turbo Man action figure has been sold, but it will certainly be an upgrade over the previous iteration, which was a Walmart exclusive that left a little something to be desired for those of us that take our movie toys seriously. You can see why in this video here.

What’s crazy is that if you want to buy that version of the Turbo-Man toy, the only one currently listed on eBay has a high bid over $150, which is already more than the Kickstarter funding price.

We think we can count on this new version being an upgrade.
