It’s TERMINATOR Meets POWER RANGERS in This Latest Mash-Up

Last week, YouTube mash-up extraordinaire The Usual Suspect delivered a DuckTales inspired video that had us quacking with excitement. But, the things that made this YouTuber famous were his absolutely superb Power Rangers themed shorts. The man has tackled everything from Star Wars to Star Trek to Jurassic Park and all sorts of IPs in between. That said, it’s been a while since Usual Suspect delivered a brand new mash-up based on a title sequence from the famed series. Luckily, that changes today with his latest video, a mash-up of Terminator and what is considered by many to be the darkest of the Power Rangers series: RPM.

Power Rangers: RPM is about a computer virus that rises up to destroy the last of humanity in a post apocalyptic future, and the only thing that can stop it is a new team of RPM rangers that feature a car inspired theme, kind of like Power Rangers: Turbo but cooler. Knowing that, it’s no surprise that Suspect thought the series would blend perfectly with the imagery of Terminator, especially the stuff from the first two James Cameron films.

With everything that’s been happening with the Terminator franchise in the last few months, it’s nice to be reminded how cool this property is from time to time. With any luck, we’ll be this excited for it again next year when the reboot rolls around. But, for now, this will do.

This is less like the Power Rangers and more like the adult-oriented late-night TV shows that were on in the late 90s and early 2000s, like Cleopatra 2525 and Jack of All Trades.
